Elder Jesse Plumb - Washington Seattle Mission 10/2021 - 10/2023

  What's up everyone? Hope it's been good where you're at. Well this week was super cool, we had a member of the 70 come to our mission, his name was Elder Mark A. Bragg. He really loved our mission but apparently we've been doing companionship study wrong my whole mission haha. The spirit gave me a good reminder of the small things in missionary work and even just life in general that make such a big difference. It reminds me of Elder Uchtdorf and his talk on a matter of a few degrees and the difference those tiny mistakes or faults can do. Through "small means the Lord can bring about great things." To improve on these small things, I've been making goals around the scripture of Christ asking three times to Peter, "Lovest thou me, more than these?" Our every decision and action we use with our agency reflects how much we love the Lord. Every action, thought, and priority we have either helps us progress and grow or regress.   How's it going y'all? This was an exhausting week, we just had a lot of meetings and events towards the tail end of it that made our work feel less effective. Many great spiritual experiences though no doubt. One of those events was the temple which was peaceful break midweek to relieve some stress. Our friend Cormac also ended up being baptized this last weekend, which ended it on a high note. I think a big thing I took away from this week is, in pressure packed moments, I can choose to be a victim and let my situation get the best of me and lose a growth opportunity. Or I can choose to be a victor and overcome whatever circumstance I'm in through Christ and take opposition as an opportunity to be strengthened. If you know me, a passion I have is sports. The most dominant quarterbacks, basketball players, coaches, etc, are calm, cool, and collected in pressure filled situations. They choose to not let their circumstance defeat and overpower them.   Hey yall! It's some good times here in Auburn. Apparently we had the worst air quality in the world at one point this past week because of the smoke from the fires up here. But thankfully it's been raining, but that means the 9 months of no sun is back. This week was also the start of a new transfer and I got a new elder to train again. Elder Thompson got put in Spanish work and my new elder is Elder Butler. Its been a fun first week with him and I'm glad to be staying in the Mill Pond Ward as well. This week, our friend Cormac is planning to get baptized, which is super exciting. Our whole zone has been absolutely popping off right now as well and there's been tons of hype for the work. The Lord's work is moving forward and ain't gonna lie there's been some neat persecution these last couple weeks. It's always great to watch others yell and scream at me and claim I worship the devil and they worship the true christ as I stand their smiling and respect...

  Howdy howdy everyone. Its been a crazy couple weeks here in Auburn. This last week alone we had 4 people commit to a baptismal date. We've been receiving miracle after miracle from the Lord. And this is most healthy I've been in my life. I've eaten more salad these last 3 weeks alone than I have in my life. And I've been going 3 months strong on a soda fast and just started up a fast food fast. Yes, I know the old Elder Plumb is gone but never forgotten. Anyways with one our friends were teaching named Anthony, has truly, truly changed through Jesus Christ. I have literally seen him in the very lows of the life to no longer heeding ungodliness. He's a stud and is even sharing the gospel with his other friends. The Prophet of God, Russell M. Nelson gave a talk about Overcoming the world.  Sorry everyone I realize I haven't sent an email in like 3 weeks. And a lot has changed. I got the good ol 6 weeks and out in Kent and am now in Auburn, in the Mill Pond Ward and am training again. I had a great time in Kent in the Pine Tree ward with Elder Wilson but sadly the dynasty has come to an end. Which is unfortunate because we just swiped our teaching pool and had like 3  people who were now ready to be baptized so I won't be able to see them make their first covenant with God but I'm glad I was able to help them with it. But I've been in Auburn for 2 weeks and just wow. This place is amazing. Elder Thompson is my new greenies name and he's got some fire to his 6'5" frame. He's very ready for missionary work. We're opening this ward together because it was being double covered the last 12 weeks by Elders who also covered a Spanish area. So they said they put a lot more focus on their Spanish work.   How's it going everyone? This week went amazing as most of them do, but this week was a little more special than most. First off on Wednesday we went to the temple as a mission and it was just phenomenal. It was a perfect spot to take some time away from the world and feel peace as well as receive some great inspiration from the spirit. Not many things can too going to the temple. But... something did in the same week. This Saturday an apostle and witness of the Lord came to Kent, Washington! Elder Jeffrey R. Holland. He gave a devotional to the youth in the area and our whole mission. This was a very powerful and spiritually lifting week indeed. Elder Holland shared a ton on devoting our lives to Jesus Christ and serving him. He said the only way to change the world is through Christ. No other things have worked. Only Christ can heal the pains and sufferings of this world. If everyone in the world did their best to follow Christ's example and his teachings the world would be...

  Howdy howdy yall hope it's been going well. Sorry it's been a few weeks but I've been in my new area in Kent for 3 weeks now. The ward is great and loving doing missionary work with us. Our teaching pool is a different story. We had some good things going for a second and had a friend named Imelda committed to being baptized in a couple weeks, but this last week she ended up dropping us and a lot of other things happened with other friends. So, we are starting from scratch and gonna go on an all out find grind here in downtown Kent. I'm excited and got a lot of faith, no doubt there's gonna be some sweet miracles coming soon. My new greenie is pretty great too, we get along well and he's very gun ho about things and is actually 23 years old so the elder knows life and has a solid testimony.
