Oh...My...Goodness!

Sorry everyone I realize I haven't sent an email in like 3 weeks. And a lot has changed. I got the good ol 6 weeks and out in Kent and am now in Auburn, in the Mill Pond Ward and am training again. I had a great time in Kent in the Pine Tree ward with Elder Wilson but sadly the dynasty has come to an end. Which is unfortunate because we just swiped our teaching pool and had like 3  people who were now ready to be baptized so I won't be able to see them make their first covenant with God but I'm glad I was able to help them with it. But I've been in Auburn for 2 weeks and just wow. This place is amazing. Elder Thompson is my new greenies name and he's got some fire to his 6'5" frame. He's very ready for missionary work. We're opening this ward together because it was being double covered the last 12 weeks by Elders who also covered a Spanish area. So they said they put a lot more focus on their Spanish work. So the first week was just a straight find grind, just looking for new people to teach and hence the title of this email "OH... MY... GOODNESS"- Jeff Van Gundy(2016 NBA Finals commenting on LeBron James' block on Igoudala). A first week for a new missionary usually can be rough for them but Elder Thompson came out firing on all cylinders and we had some cool miracles which translated into this last week of some even better miracles. We put our friend Anna on date to be baptized October 8th, currently have 3 other friends praying to know if the Book of Mormons true and if they should be baptized. And on top of that we got a referral named Anthony who showed up to church this week before even meeting us and asked us if we could come to HIS HOME every Wednesday and teach him. WELL DAGGUM, "OH... MY... GOODNESS"- Jeff Van Gundy. Anyways its been a great week, the numbers don't measure your success on the mission, but if you know me and my passion about sports and stats then you know, I love my stats and we had a great week all around thanks to the hand of the Lord guiding us in our work. So I love Auburn right now its been great and the people here are amazing to talk to, even when people have attempted to yell and scream at us we've been able to calm them down and have amazing spiritual discussions with them. I have been very grateful and blessed for the people I have been able to cross paths with and share my testimony and knowledge of the gospel but most importantly to learn from them and grow myself as well. I have been guilty of forgetting the reality that just because I teach and have access to more knowledge of the Atonement of Jesus Christ, doesn't necessarily make my faith in Christ greater than those who don't. I,  and many other members of the Church, sometimes feel like we view ourselves in an Elite club because we know of the restored gospel of Jesus christ and sustain modern day prophets and apostles who share their testimonies of Christ. I have been reminded again, thanks to the wonderful spiritual discussions with the people of Auburn, that there are many people who's faith in God is far greater than mine. There's a lot of difficult things happening in the world currently and I talk to many people who are slowly losing their faith. But I also have amazing discussions with people whos faith in God is amazing, and they have it without even fully understanding the Atonement of Jesus Christ. The best knowledge to have right now is that Jesus Christ has suffered and died for us and was resurrected and overcame death. I am grateful for all the many people who choose faith over fear in these scary times and look with hope for the coming of the Lord again. Their faith is greater than mine and I'm glad they choose Christ and to spread His love and peace to others and lift others as well. The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-day Saints is without a doubt Christ's church here on the earth, but Christ doesn't invite division between His followers. Together we need to build up Israel or else there won't be much of a place for Zion. Love yall so much. God bless America. Grind it out. Horns Down
