I'm Merely the Dark

 Hey yall! It's some good times here in Auburn. Apparently we had the worst air quality in the world at one point this past week because of the smoke from the fires up here. But thankfully it's been raining, but that means the 9 months of no sun is back. This week was also the start of a new transfer and I got a new elder to train again. Elder Thompson got put in Spanish work and my new elder is Elder Butler. Its been a fun first week with him and I'm glad to be staying in the Mill Pond Ward as well. This week, our friend Cormac is planning to get baptized, which is super exciting. Our whole zone has been absolutely popping off right now as well and there's been tons of hype for the work. The Lord's work is moving forward and ain't gonna lie there's been some neat persecution these last couple weeks. It's always great to watch others yell and scream at me and claim I worship the devil and they worship the true christ as I stand their smiling and respectful, bearing my testimony of the Book of Mormon. Missionary work is following in the footsteps of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Who even though he was perfect, was rejected and crucified. I love the change I've seen in myself as I've strived each and every day of mission to improve and become more like Christ. Today actually marks a year since I've been set apart as a representative of Jesus Christ. I'm not perfect I make mistakes everyday as we all do, but as I've sought to see others through the Savior's eyes my love grows for this privilege to serve and the people I teach. In Matthew 5:48, Christ commands us to "Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in Heaven is perfect." The Gospel changes and improves, it's not a sit and wait or claim a "belief" and your saved, no it's a plan to grow us each day and for eternity. If there was an infinite atonement made for all mankind to live after death, there must be a bigger reason for man to live after death then just sit on a cloud and play a harp. Our Father in Heaven left His son to suffer below anyone has ever suffered because Heavenly Father loves us and wants us to repent, change, and improve to be like Him. As we follow the peaceful and comforting guidance of the Holy Ghost, we are strengthened and changed into Saints through Christ and His Atonement. And as saints, are duty is to share that change and experience to all of the world. I love this work and I'm excited to preach truth for not just another year, but afterwards as well.   How's it going? Twas a good week. There's two more weeks left in this transfer and I'll most likely be transferred out sadly. It's crunch time here in Victor Falls ward.  Struggled to get in contact with a lot of people but we did have one of our friends the new Luis come to church with us. He really enjoyed the Easter program and said he would love to come next week and in the future. It was a great Easter weekend. Easter is a great holiday to remember our savior and Redeemer Jesus christ. He overcame death through the resurrection and His sacrifice allows us to return to live with our Father in Heaven again someday. Every single person will too be resurrected again and have their bodies perfected. How beautiful this message is and also being able live together with our families further than the good ol til death do us part.   How's it going? This week was great because transfers were last Monday and I'm staying in Victor Falls for another 6 weeks. I'm super excited about that and to be here until May where I can finally see some more sun and mount Rainier. We saw some pretty daggum good miracles this week. One of them is a NEW Luis. Not the old one but one who seriously just randomly showed up as a person in our area Book records a couple weeks ago. He wasn't a referral or anything but we went and visited thinking we just had to have forgotten him or something, but we got there and Luis let us right in and we got to know him and teach him. A couple weeks ago we also did some service for a guy and his family, who lived across the street from a member family. And this week we saw them walking into church unexpectedly, which was super hype. Anyways the week was good and Elder Char and I are still grinding it out in Victor Falls.   Hello everybody! It's been a good week. We were able to get in contact with multiple friends who we haven't been able to get in contact with for awhile. They all went really well and like I said this areas still promising. We're starting a new team system for members in our ward that should absolutely blow up. It's a great idea and I can't wait to see how it goes. The members are going to be involved so much more now. We also had our friend Luis come to church, which I believe I talked about last week. If you've been out here and know me you know I'm high on Luis. Such a great dude. The people here like always are super fun to talk to. This one guy we talked to had the exact replica of Kiit from knight rider. Which I've never seen but I know what it is and it was used at some event before the movie was released and has David hasslehoffs signature along all the cast and stunt teams signatures.
