Live Action 2
Yikes sorry folks. So my last two emails didn't end up sending and I found out today. So I'll give a three week update real quick here. Two weeks ago or so Elder Narayan and I taught our friend Luis and it went super well and we had been coming by very consistently. I immediately told my companion we're getting him on date for baptism in the next lesson. And... we didn't but he came to church last week and we still meet every Sunday night with him. He's an absolute great kid, but he's also 20 so he's technically not a kid. I'm super high on him though we love talking to him and he's progress so much in the last 5 or 6 weeks I've been teaching him. Transfers happened two weeks ago and I got my third Polynesian companion. His name is Elder Char and he's pretty cool. He's from Hawaii like my first companion Elder Duvauchelle. He's a great Elder and works hard so we're seeing good things. Our inspiring mission president roled out an amazing idea to help members get more involved in missionary work. And when I say this, I mean this will soon be added to every mission in the world. Hard to explain over email but our ward/congregation loves it a ton. It's an amazing idea. I've expressed this a lot too, but super excited for my area and the Victor Falls ward, President Beardall has expressed it as well. I promised him a baptism this transfer so we'll see how it goes haha. Also ran into a guy who has an exactly replica of KIIT from knight rider. Has David hasslehoffs signature and everything and was shown at the movies preshowing or something like that. Doesn't sound believable but he had pictures to back it up. I was on an exchange about two weeks ago, right before transfers, with an Elder named Elder Jones in his area Orting. And we decided to bike this crazy super long steep hill a mile and a half long and go the whole distance up. I felt pretty accomplished going maybe two thirds the way up but Elder Jones was determined to hit it. He had it easy, he's done a ton of motocross and mountain biking, but right before he got to the top, he saw a cardboard box off the side of the road. He got kind of curious and jumped off his bike and ran towards it. The box had treasure chest written on it. Elder Jones got super excited and pulled out his knife and cut it open. When opened it, it turned out to be a big turd. A little piece of crap in a cardboard box. He started to gag and throw up and everything. But in our own life paths there's so many worldly treasure chests that can distract us from our beginning goal. The treasures seem great and cool, but they're really just pieces of crap that will make you wanna puke. Many worldly things seem fun and easier during a hard uphill trek to the end goal. It does seems enticing to take a break from the uphill battle and check out the treasures but theres no good in piles of crap. In Luke 12:31,33-34 Christ says
