Tonganfest

Alright alright alright, it's been another quality week of food. This week our whole mission was able to go to the temple. Because of Covid it was the first time in almost two years and I was lucky to go only three weeks out, so that was sweeter than sugar. It also was the start of Light the world. For those who don't know, light the world is a calendar leading to Christmas, where everyday is a different way we can give during this Christmas season. It's a great way to remember the true meaning of Christmas and keep our focus on Christ and loving others. Remember this Christmas season to share Christ's love with others and give give give. Although during these times, it can feel very dark, even the just the smallest bit of light/act of love can brighten someone's day.  Also this week we ran into a big Tonga party. We originally went to our church building to set up for the ward Christmas party, but the Tongan branch/congregation was doing something in the gym. They asked us to help take it down BUT they LOVE missionaries so they gave us TONS of food and told us to eat first. If you know Tongan culture it's very polite to eat everything they give you and to get seconds. So I think yall know where this went. My companion Elder Duvauchelle is half Tongan so he enjoyed it, but Elder Nilsen and I struggled. I did what I could to down my first plate because they gave us so much and I hate saying this but the food was also sitting out so it was pretty cold. It ended with Elder Nilsen hiding in the bathroom and me sliding my food onto Elder Duvauchelles plate. So if you're ever at a Tongan BBQ get only half of what you can eat on your first plate and say no if they bring you more. Quote of the week: "If my wife comes out we'll have to switch the conversation to motorcycles."- Guy named Mike

Keep up the grind. Hope the Horns ain't up but Horns down. Jesus Loves You.
